Singapuras
Small, beautiful,
affectionate,
intelligent cats.
The cat today known as the Singapura is descended from a type of cat
native to Singapore. The Singapura is a small to medium cat with a
ticked (agouti) coat. The coat is easy to care for being short, silky,
and close lying. Some barring is shown on the inner front legs and back
knees. Ears and eyes are large with the eyes being hazel, green or gold.
All Singapuras are the same color, dark brown ticking on an old ivory
ground color; the underside is the color of unbleached muslin.
Singapuras enjoy their people and are
lively, curious, intelligent cats, while being
quite affectionate. These beguiling creatures with
their large eyes and ears do not miss much going on around them. With a
common sense attitude they are everywhere where people are, insisting on
helping with everything from cooking, to newspaper reading and in
general getting into the middle, or on top of whatever you are doing.
With their deceptively delicate appearance and that angelic face, it is
not hard for them to get their own way. One of their favorite
places to sleep is on top of the monitor. It is a warm, cozy spot
where they can keep an eye on you. They love to sit on laps, and many
like to sleep under the covers in bed with their person. The Singapura
is a very interactive cat and remains playful even when grown. They get
along remarkably well with other animals. |
